Mikayla Wang joined the Parekh Lab after completing her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Her research interest relies primarily in cognitive, neurological, and bioengineering studies. In the lab, Mikayla assist with head-fixed operant experiments to understand the effect of chronic stress on reward circuit pathways in the brain. Mikayla’s long-term career goal is to become a physician-scientist. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, weightlifting, spending time in nature with her husband, and painting.
